Our mission
Dear animal lover,
Thank you for visiting our website! As a Canadian not-for-profit organization, our mission is to raise funds for local animal rescues. Since 2012, we have raised funds to help rescues buy food and supplies, pay for vet bills, and implement a trap neuter-and-spay program for cats. We are dedicated volunteers who believe every pet should have a loving and caring home.
The Guardian’s Best Animal Rescue Foundation is also dedicated to celebrating people who have adopted their pets. This is why we started the Rescue Heroes campaign. As seen on our Instagram page, we honour people who have adopted their pets, reducing the stigma surrounding pet adoption.
We also host Party 4 Paws in downtown Toronto, and it has become our largest fundraising event of the year. Other fundraising efforts include a Be Kind to Animals pin, fridge magnets, and t-shirts. Here is a short list of rescues we've helped:

Cats get second chances in Ontario by Team Cat Rescue after the animals are saved from Quebec’s gassing pounds. We spoke to Director Suzanne Kleinberg to learn more about how the rescue started, challenges they face, and their favourite rescue story.
When did you start Team Cat Rescue?
Team Cat Rescue was born in 2014 officially by Team Dog Rescue Director Larysa Struk and me. After working hard to build Team Cat, Larysa went back to Team Dog Rescue as her core focus. Since then, Megan Osmond has joined Team Cat as a director and has brought her skills as a registered veterinarian technician to enhance Team Cat expertise.
Small dog inspires mighty rescue
Interview by Melanie Dziengo

In just two years, Ozzie to the Rescue Canada has been able to close down two puppy mills in South Carolina. For a small but mighty rescue, that is no easy feat. We spoke to Jennifer Cormier, the founder and owner of Ozzie to the Rescue Canada to find out more.
What inspired you to start your own rescue?
I had been volunteering with another rescue, but was unhappy with some of the stuff they were doing. So, I left them and started my own rescue.
